Editorial standards

These rules are non-negotiable.

  1. 1All claims must be sourced — primary sources preferred, named wherever legally possible.
  2. 2Corrections published prominently within 24 hours of identifying an error.
  3. 3No anonymous sources without editorial sign-off and documented justification.
  4. 4News reporting and commentary are kept separate — opinion is always clearly labelled.
  5. 5No stock tips or investment recommendations — analysis only.
  6. 6AI-assisted drafting is permitted; human editorial sign-off is required on every published piece.

Methodology & data sources

Every number on our markets pages is fetched live from a named public source — and each macro card shows its source and update frequency. Where no free, real-time feed exists, we leave the indicator off the board rather than publish an estimate (Editorial Standard #1).

    US Treasuries & credit spreads; ABS/OECD series for AU rates, CPI & unemployment; IMF commodity prices.

  • Yahoo Finance

    Index, ASX-sector, equity and oil-ETF prices and history.

  • CoinGecko

    Spot gold via PAX Gold (redeemable 1:1 for a troy ounce).

  • Frankfurter / ECB

    Daily reference foreign-exchange rates.
